MONTREAL - Canadiens prospects Owen Beck and Logan Mailloux will face off in the OHL Championship Series, while Jared Davidson plays for the WHL Championship.

The Peterborough Petes edged the North Bay Battalion in a closely contested series that required a Game 7 to decide the tiebreaker in the Ontario Hockey League semifinals. Beck got his team on the board in the second period of the rubber match, firing a wrist shot past the Battalion netminder, leading to a 3-2 triumph of their opponents.

The centerman, drafted 33rd overall by Montreal last summer, continues to have his way in the faceoff circle, winning 66.3% of his draws in the postseason to date. His six goals and seven assists in 17 games ranks him second on the Petes in playoff points in 2023.

On the other end of the ice, he'll find Mailloux, another member of the Canadiens' pool of prospects. The former first-round pick continues to pace the London Knights defenseman in scoring with six goals and 11 helpers in 15 outings. League-wide, the 20-year-old sits third in points among all blueliners, eight points shy of Ty Nelson who has five more games to his name.

Mailloux scored the insurance marker in the Knights' 5-1 win over the Sarnia Sting on Sunday and finished the contest with a plus-3 differential to add to his dazzling offensive numbers through three rounds.

Peterborough and London go head-to-head for the J. Ross Robertson Cup as of Thursday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Davidson and the Seattle Thunderbirds will continue their charge for the Ed Chynoweth Cup, presented to the champions of the Western Hockey League, on Friday, May 12 at 8:00 p.m. ET when they open their series with the Winnipeg Ice.

The 20-year-old, who earned first star honors in Monday's win to punch the Thunderbirds' ticket to the WHL final, lit the lamp on a quick release that found a lane to get the T-Birds on the board, then followed it up with an assist on the game-winning goal in the third period. The centerman registered four shots on goal and finished his night with a plus-3 differential.

Davidson, selected by the Canadiens in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft, is in his third WHL playoff run. His 23 career postseason goals is the most in Seattle Thunderbirds history.

A spot in the coveted Memorial Cup is on the line for the Canadiens' trio of prospects. The annual tournament will be played from May 25 to June 4 in Kamloops, BC.
