BostonBruins.com- Former Bruins forward Johnny 'Pie' McKenzie passed away Saturday at the age of 80. The High River, Alberta, native played in Boston from 1965-72.
Acquired from the New York Rangers during the 1965-66 season, the right winger went on to help the Bruins to two Stanley Cup victories, in 1970 and 1972.

Just 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds, McKenzie was known for his pesky style of play, racking up at least 98 penalty minutes in each of his six full seasons with Boston. But his skill was not to be overlooked as McKenzie - who played alongside Johnny Bucyk and Fred Stanfield for much of his Bruins career - produced five straight 20-plus-goal seasons, including a career-high 31 in 1970-71.

In seven seasons with the Black & Gold, McKenzie collected 169 goals and 227 assists for 396 points, to go along with 710 penalty minutes, in 454 games.
