PROVIDENCE, RI. - The 2018 Boston Bruins Fan Fest Tour conlcuded on Sunday in Providence, Rhode Island at the Alex and Ani City Center. Bruins forward Chris Wagner, head coach Bruce Cassidy and Providence head coach Jay Leach were there to visit with fans.
Bruce Cassidy was a member Providence Bruins coaching staff from 2008 to 2016, and enjoyed being back in the state of Rhode Island.

"I spent eight years here," said Cassidy. "Both my kids, Shannon and Cole, were born here, so I've had a lot of good memories. Not just at the hockey rink, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, but just around town, down here. They came skating here as youngsters when the ice was in, so it's nice to be back."
During his time with the P-Bruins, Cassidy learned the value of players developing in the AHL.
"Tthey can look at it as a positive," said Cassidy of players who play in the AHL. "Get better and grow and learn how to become a professional ...Bergy [Patrice Bergeron] played here, Marchy [Brad Marchand], Tuukka [Rask], [Kevan] Miller, we can go on and on. So great developmental league in our particular situation here in Providence. It's a model franchise for the American Hockey League. A lot of that has to do with the fanbase."

Coming off his first full season as the head coach of the Bruins, Cassidy is looking forward to the upcoming season.
"Like everybody else, we want to build off what we did well last year," said Cassidy. "You know we didn't finish the way we wanted to, but 30 teams will say that as well. So, we're going to look at the positive things we did well, look at the areas where better teams beat us and see if we can improve in those areas - some of that's systematic and some of that's personnel-wise."
