Bruins Activate Urho Vaakanainen From IR; Assign Jack Ahcan To Providence

Vaakanainen has recorded four assists and a plus-one rating in 13 games for the Bruins this season

BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, February 17, that the team has activated defenseman Urho Vaakanainen from Injured Reserve. Sweeney also announced that the Bruins have assigned defenseman Jack Ahcan to the Providence Bruins.

Vaakanainen, 23, has recorded four assists and a plus-one rating in 13 games for the Bruins this season. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defenseman has appeared in 29 career NHL games with Boston.
Ahcan, 24, has five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 31 AHL games with Providence this season. The 5-foot-8, 178-pound defenseman has skated in six career NHL games with Boston.
