Bruins to Have Six Picks at 2017 NHL Draft

Boston's first-round pick is 18th overall

BOSTON - The Boston Bruins will have six picks in next weekend's NHL Entry Draft in Chicago. The first round is set for Friday, June 23 (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN), while Rounds 2-7 will take place Saturday, June 24 (10 a.m. ET; NHL Network).

Here is a rundown of the Bruins' draft order:

53rd Overall - Pick acquired from Edmonton Oilers as compensation for Oilers signing Peter Chiarelli as General Manager

  • Boston's natural second-round pick (49th overall) was traded to New Jersey with a 2016 fourth-round pick for Lee Stempniak on Feb. 29, 2016.
  • The Bruins' natural third-round pick (80th overall) was traded to Philadelphia for Zac Rinaldo on June 29, 2015.
  • Boston's natural fifth-round pick (142nd overall) was traded to Carolina with a 2016 third-round pick for John-Michael Liles on Feb. 29, 2016
