ST. LOUIS - For two Blues, tonight's game has been a long time coming.

Robby Fabbri will return to the lineup in the regular season for the first time since tearing his ACL back on Feb. 3, 2017. Fabbri was on track to return last October, but tore his ACL again in the preseason last year. Now, after a minor setback this yeah that was unrelated to his knee, Fabbri is ready to go for the first time in 20 months.
"I don't know how long it's going to take for him to get right back on top of things, but I know that players that are relentless and tenacious and as driven as he is usually finds a way to get there quicker," Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo said. "I'm really excited for Robby. He's been through a lot.

After 20 months, two knee surgeries, Fabbri is ready

"It's an opportunity right now. It's more than what he had last year, it's more than what he had two weeks ago," Yeo added. "… Any shift that he gets right now is a blessing, and I think you're going to see that."
Carl Gunnarsson will also return to the lineup for the first time since tearing his ACL in the March 23 game against Vancouver last season. Gunnarsson was expected to be out at least six months.
"Hopefully stability, when he's on top of his game, that's what he's giving you," Yeo said of Gunnarsson. "He's going to be reliable, he's going to be sound defensively. He's going to do some things and make some plays and he wants to help our team get to our game in a simple form."
