BLUES A 28-save performance from Jordan Binnington in his second career start helped the Blues to a convincing 4-1 win against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night at Enterprise Center.
Oskar Sundqvist registered a goal and an assist, Jay Bouwmeester, Robert Thomas and Sammy Blais each scored and Ryan O'Reilly had two assists for the Blues.
"I'm happy with that one," Binnington said after the game. "It's my first start at home. I'm pretty excited about that. It was an exciting game, entertaining. We're happy with that outcome."
Binnington has given up one goal on 54 shots in his two starts.
The Blues begin a four-game road trip with Saturday's game in Dallas and will travel without Tyler Bozak (concussion) and Robert Thomas (shoulder). Both players were placed on injured reserve Friday. Alexander Steen, who was expected to be re-evaluated in two weeks with a shoulder injury, joined the team on the trip but it's uncertain whether he will play.
After facing the Stars, the Blues will travel to Washington D.C., New York and Boston.

STARS Jamie Benn scored for the Dallas Stars on Thursday, but that was the only goal the Stars would get against goalie Carter Hart and the Philadelphia Flyers. Dallas lost 2-1 at Wells Fargo Center for their second regulation loss in the last three games.
"I thought we skated well. Just weren't doing enough," Stars Head Coach Jim Montgomery told NHL.com after the game. "Not enough players had an impact, either with the puck or without the puck… I thought our intent was there, we just didn't get things done. One of those games where it's a winnable game on the road and we didn't do it."
In their last five games, the Stars are 3-2-0. They currently sit in third place in the Central Division.
HEAD-TO-HEAD Dallas earned a 3-1 win against St. Louis in the first matchup of the season last Tuesday at Enterprise Center. Saturday's matchup in Dallas marks the second meeting between the teams this season.
The Blues are 11-5-1 in their last 17 games against the Stars and 8-6-1 in the last 15 trips to Dallas.
Saturday's game will be the 289th regular-season meeting between the teams - the second-most of any opponent the Blues have played.

Nine of the Blues' next 10 games will be on the road. In their last seven road games, the Blues are 5-2-0. This season, the Blues rank fourth in the NHL with a 2.60 road goals-against average and a .917 road save-percentage… David Perron enters Saturday's game on a career-best nine-game point streak (four goals, eight assists)… Alex Pietrangelo has nine points in his last 10 games against the Stars (three goals, six assists).
