ST. LOUIS - Former Blue Red Berenson will be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in December.
Berenson, who played parts of eight seasons with the St. Louis Blues and also served as the club's head coach for three years, will join Nashville Predators General Manager David Poile, former NHL referee Paul Stewart, former Boston Bruins player Leland Harrington and three-time Olympic Winter Games medalist Natalie Darwitz in the 2018 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame class.

Berenson played 987 regular-season games in the NHL, suiting up for the Blues, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers. He posted 261 goals and 397 assists (658 points) over the course of his NHL career.
In St. Louis, Berenson played in 519 regular-season games, posting 172 goals and 240 assists (412 points) and still holds the franchise record for most goals in a game by a single player when he scored six against the Philadelphia Flyers on Nov. 7, 1968. He also captured the Jack Adams Memorial Trophy as the coach of the year following the 1980-81 season.
Berenson recently wrapped up a 33-year career as the head coach for the University of Michigan men's hockey program, where he became one of just four college hockey coaches to post 800 wins and helped the Wolverines to 22 straight appearances in the NCAA tournament from 1991-2012, marking the longest streak in college hockey history.
