The Columbus Blue Jackets have reduced their training camp roster by six players, returning three to their respective junior teams and releasing three from tryout contracts, club President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Don Waddell announced today. The training camp roster now stands at 49 players, including 28 forwards, 15 defensemen and six goaltenders.
Columbus has returned forwards Alessandro Di Iorio to the Ontario Hockey League’s Sarnia Sting and Filip Novak to the Vicotria Royals of the Western Hockey League, as well as goaltender Parker Snell to the WHL’s Edmonton Oil Kings. The team has also released forward Ryan McGuire and defensemen Callum Croskery and Rowan Topp from their amateur tryout contracts.
The Blue Jackets play their first preseason game on Monday night at 7 p.m. against the Detroit Red Wings at Nationwide Arena. The game will be broadcast live on the club’s app and can be heard on Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan in Columbus.
