Chicago (32-31-10) will clash with the Colorado Avalanche (33-29-12) on Saturday afternoon in the first game of a critical back-to-back, home-and-home series. The Blackhawks currently sit four points back of the Avalanche in the Western Conference playoff race.

Patrick Kane is the team's leading scorer with 101 points (41G, 60A) in 72 games this season. Team Captain Jonathan Toews is second with 73 points (31G, 42A), just two points ahead of Alex DeBrincat (38G, 33A).
In net, Corey Crawford has a 12-16-3 record with a 3.03 GAA and .908 SV%.
Cam Ward
has a 14-11-4 record with a 3.72 GAA and .893 SV%.
Three straight wins for the Avalanche have allowed them to jump right back into the thick of the Wild Card race. They are coming off a 3-1 victory over Dallas on Thursday night.
Nathan MacKinnon is their leading scorer with 91 points (37G, 54A) in 74 games. Mikko Rantanen is second with 87 points (31G, 56A). In 68 games this season, Gavriel Landeskog has 69 points (33G, 36A).

OPPONENT TO WATCH:
The Avalanche boast several top-end NHL talents, but Nathan MacKinnon is always worth mentioning.
The 23-year-old center leads the Colorado attack with 91 points, just six shy of last season's career-numbers. The 2013 first-overall pick has four points in his last five games. He scored in the Dec. 29 meeting with Chicago.
