Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced today the 2016 training camp schedule and roster for the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. The IceHogs start their 18th overall season of professional hockey in Rockford, and 10th in the AHL as the top affiliate of the Blackhawks, on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Rockford's 2016-17 regular season schedule starts with an opening weekend in Ohio against the defending Calder Cup Champion, Cleveland Monsters, on Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15. IceHogs training camp will conclude on Oct. 10. All training camp practices will take place at the BMO Harris Bank Center and will be closed to the public.
The IceHogs training camp slate features two preseason contests. Rockford hosts the Chicago Wolves on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7 p.m. The team then travels to Milwaukee on Friday, Oct. 7 to take on the Admirals at the Kern Center on the campus of the Milwaukee School of Engineering at 7 p.m.
The camp invitees include five forwards who are all under contract with Rockford's ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel. Those players include: Anthony Beauregard, Tyler Currier, Matt Rupert, Cody Sharib and Marek Tvrdon. Other invitees include: forwards Phil Brewer, Tom Olczyk, Tyler Sikura and defenseman Travis Walsh.
There are 10 players under AHL contracts with Rockford for the 2016-17 season including forwards Tyler Barnes, Bryn Chyzyk, Chris DeSousa, Jake Dowell, Jeremy Langlois and Evan Mosey. Defensemen Jonathan Carlsson and Nick Mattson are also under contract along with goaltenders Jake Hildebrand and Eric Levine. Players on AHL contracts with Rockford are all scheduled to attend training camp with the Chicago Blackhawks.
