Projected Lineup: Avalanche vs. Blues
Colorado hosts St. Louis in an afternoon affairby Callie Parmele @CallieParmele / ColoradoAvalanche.com
The Colorado Avalanche returns home today to open a three-game homestand against the St. Louis Blues.
The outing with St. Louis marks the third of four meetings between the clubs this campaign and the second and final matchup in the Mile High City. Colorado lost each of the first two contests, both in overtime, and the season series will wrap up on April 1 at the Blues.
It is also the third of six afternoon contests at Pepsi Center this year and the eighth overall for Colorado. The Avs are scheduled for 13 day games (5 p.m. start time or earlier), and they are 3-2-2 in these outings so far this campaign.
Due to the 1 p.m. MT puck drop, Colorado did not hold a morning skate today so the team's exact lineup won't be known until closer to game time.
Dominic Toninato scored his first NHL goal and Gabriel Landeskog tallied his 30th marker of the season in the Avs' last game on Thursday at the Winnipeg Jets. Goaltender Semyon Varlamov, who is expected to get the start against St. Louis, was between the pipes and made 24 saves in his 37th appearance of the season.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup based on how the forward combinations and defensive pairings were to begin Thursday's contest at Winnipeg. They are subject to change.
