Where does the team hold practices? Are they open to the public?

The South Suburban Family Sports Center in Centennial, Colorado serves as the Avalanche Practice Facility. Fans are welcome to attend Avalanche practices during the regular season; beginning with the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, practices are closed to the public. Practice times vary but typically start at 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. on non-game days when the team is in town.

How do I become a member of the Avalanche Ice Patrol team?

Auditions for the Avalanche Ice Patrol team are held in the summer and dates will be announced on the team's website at: nhl.com/avalanche/fans/ice-patrol. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate or equivalent. Ice Patrol members must also provide their own skates for the audition and season. Our ideal candidate will need to exercise a high level of skating ability but will be also judged on team knowledge, personality and enthusiasm for the team and its initiatives.
