VAN@STL: Boeser gets friendly bounce off glass, Allen

The trend of high-scoring performances during the 2018-19 season continued Sunday when the Vancouver Canucks, Winnipeg Jets and Anaheim Ducks combined for 19 goals in respective victories against the St. Louis Blues, Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils.

Teams have scored at least six goals in a game 84 times (including shootout-deciding goals), the highest total through 460 games of a season since 1996-97 (90) and 11 more than at the same point last season (73). Three teams (Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins) are tied for the most goals scored in a game (nine).

Walk with Elias

The Canucks were powered by Elias Pettersson's second five-point game (one goal, four assists) in the NHL and Brock Boeser's second NHL hat trick in a 6-1 win against the Blues at Enterprise Center.

Pettersson Five Point Game

Pettersson, the No. 5 pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, leads all rookies with 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists). He is the sixth rookie in the expansion era (since 1967-68) and second in as many seasons with multiple games of at least five points in a single season. New York Islanders center Mathew Barzal had three multipoint games in 2017-18 en route to winning the Calder Trophy given to the top rookie in the NHL.
Pettersson also joined the New York Islanders' Bryan Trottier (1975-76) as the only NHL rookies to accomplish the feat before the end of December.

Taking flight

The Jets got goals from seven players in a 7-1 win against the Flyers at Bell MTS Place. Winnipeg, which scored eight goals against the Blues on Nov. 24, is the eighth team with multiple games of at least seven goals this season.

PHI@WPG: Connor beats Neuvirth from high slot

The Jets had at least seven goal scorers in the same game for the ninth time in franchise history and third since the Atlanta Thrashers relocated to Winnipeg (Oct. 27, 2011; Nov. 27, 2017). It's also the 10th time this season a team has accomplished the feat and the second time this week. Seven players scored for the Flames in a 9-6 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Dec. 4.

Ducks in a row

Anaheim defeated New Jersey 6-5 in a shootout at Honda Center in a game that had five game-tying goals, including one by Devils forward Marcus Johansson with 58 seconds remaining in the third period. The game was the sixth this season with at least five game-tying goals, the most in one season since 2010-11 (seven). Johansson has two of them; he also scored in the final minute of the third against the Islanders on Nov. 23.

NJD@ANA: Getzlaf beats Schneider to seal SO victory

The Ducks and Devils combined for three goals in the first 2:47, the fastest three by two teams to begin a game this season. The Vegas Golden Knights and Chicago Blackhawks combined for the fastest three goals at any point of a game when Chicago's Artem Anisimov and Vegas' Jonathan Marchessault and Alex Tuch scored 0:53 apart in the third period of Vegas' 4-3 win at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 6.
