Will Bitten Prospect Report

The Iowa Wild went 2-0-1 in three games last week to complete a seven-game road trip (4-1-2). The Wild earned a 4-3 overtime victory against the Griffins Wednesday at Van Andel Arena (10/30). F Gerry Mayhew (2-1=3) and D Brennan Menell (0-3=3) each led the team with three points and Mayhew netted the OT winner. F Gabriel Dumont scored two goals. G Kaapo Kahkonen stopped 35-of-38 shots. Iowa won its second game of the week, 1-0, against Milwaukee Friday at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena (11/1). Mayhew scored the lone goal with assists from F Will Bitten and Dumont. Kahkonen made 33 saves. The Wild earned a point in its final game of the week with a 3-2 overtime loss against the IceHogs Saturday at BMO Harris Bank Center (11/2). F Colton Beck and F Kyle Rau each scored for the Wild. G Mat Robson stopped 34-of-37 shots.

Mayhew (6-4=10) and Menell (1-9=10) lead Iowa with 10 points apiece this season. Menell ranks T-1st amongst AHL defensemen in points and assists, and third in shots (37). His assist total ranks T-3rd in the AHL. F Sam Anas (3-6=9) and Rau (4- 5=9) rank T-3rd with nine points each. Dumont ranks fifth with eight points (5-3=8). Kahkonen is 6-0-0 with a 2.47 GAA and a .915 SV% in six games and ranks T-1st in the League in wins. Robson is 1-1-3 with a 2.13 GAA and a .936 SV% and ranks third amongst AHL rookie goaltenders in SV% and sixth in GAA. The Wild hosts Chicago on Thursday and Ontario on Saturday and Sunday this week.
