Herb Brooks rink 1 2.22.19

ST. PAUL -- On the 39th anniversary of the 1980 'Miracle on Ice,' the Minnesota Wild and U.S. Bank donated a new outdoor rink the Herb Brooks Foundation.
The NHL club and locally-based bank corporation partnered with EZ Ice, Inc., to add outdoor ice to the Conway Recreation Center in St. Paul. The sheet was unveiled Friday afternoon as part of Hockey Week Across America.

Named for the legendary coach of that 1980 United States Olympic men's hockey team, the Herb Brooks Foundation worked with the Sanneh Foundation to identify the space to house the new rink.
The mission of The Herb Brooks Foundation is introducing, providing and maintaining a variety of hockey-related opportunities at no cost for local youth while growing the game. The Sanneh Foundation offers public programs including free youth camps, open basketball, futsal, soccer, after school computer time, study hall, academic support, and more.
