Postgame Hat Trick: Predators 3, Wild 2 (SO)

Wild.com's Dan Myers gives three takeaways from the Wild's 3-2 shootout loss against the Nashville Predators at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Sunday night:

1. Minnesota saw its winning streak end but its points streak continue.
Playing for the second time in about 21 hours, of course the Wild would head to the shootout. But to its credit, it didn't look any worse for the wear.
All things considered, three out of a possible four points is pretty good, considering the condensed schedule and the quality of opponent; both Calgary and Nashville are first-place outfits right now.
Speaking of points streaks, Jason Zucker and Eric Staal kept theirs alive, with Zucker's reaching five on his second-period goal and Staal's getting to six with his assist on the goal. Both are season longs.
Alex Stalock was outstanding, finishing with 38 saves through the end of regulation and 41 for the game.

Minnesota will now hit the road for three games, beginning Tuesday back in Nashville before heading to Florida for back-to-back games against the Lightning and Panthers on Thursday and Friday.
2. Eric Fehr's rock solid shift in the second period got things going for the Wild offensively.
First, he blocked a shot in the defensive end and saw the puck exit the zone and into neutral. Then he chased it down and set himself up on a breakaway.

Fehr has never been a big scorer in the NHL, but showed off his offensive ability by hitting the top corner over Juuse Saros' glove, tying the game for Minnesota.
The goal was a critical turning point: The Wild scored again on Zucker's goal less than three minutes later to take the lead for the first time.
3. The Wild honored Mikael Granlund in his first game back in St. Paul.
Traded from Minnesota to Nashville six days ago, Granlund was playing his second game with the Predators. He's now played a game in his former home arena before suiting up in a game at his new place, which will happen Tuesday night when the Wild has a return date with the Predators at Bridgestone Arena.
Granlund was incredibly gracious in pre-game comments following Nashville's morning skate.

Fans inside Xcel Energy Center were equal in their appreciation for the seven seasons of service and the memories provided by Granlund as well.
