About the Stars

The Stars (25-17-3) opened a four-game road trip with a 3-2 overtime win in Boston on Monday afternoon. Tyler Seguin scored a highlight-reel goal during a delayed penalty 2:59 into the extra period as Dallas overcame giving up a 2-0 lead in the game.
"We wanted to have a big bounce back after Colorado (loss on Saturday) coming out of the bye week," said Stars defenseman Stephen Johns. "We knew we were coming into a hostile environment with a great team. We knew it would be a fight to the end, and we got the two points."
Johns and Alexander Radulov scored in regulation for the Stars, and Kari Lehtonen stopped 30 shots in his first start since Dec. 15.
The Stars moved back into the first wild-card spot in the Western Conference and within two points of third place in the Central Division with the win.
Forward Jason Spezza was a healthy scratch in Monday's game but is expected to play Tuesday in Detroit.
"We need a reset," said Stars coach Ken Hitchcock. "He's got to play better, a lot better. He's capable of it. He's a big part of what we are doing here, but we need a better player, and we'll get one tomorrow."
Ben Bishop will get the start in goal for Dallas.

About the Red Wings

The Red Wings (18-18-7) are coming off a 4-0 win over Chicago at United Center on Sunday afternoon. Petr Mrazek stopped 27 shots for his second shutout of the season, and Anthony Mantha and Tyler Bertuzzi both tallied one goal and one assist. Detroit scored two quick goals early in the game to take an early lead.
"We talked about making sure we use one of our best assets, and that's using our speed to pressure all over the ice, and I thought we did a good job of that the first half of that first period," Detroit coach Jeff Blashill told reporters. "They pushed back in the second half of that period, but we were able to find ways to score, and I thought it was a pretty complete game."
The Red Wings improved to 5-2-0 over their last seven games with Sunday's victory.
Forwards Justin Abdelkader and Darren Helm missed Sunday's game due to injury and both are out for Tuesday's game.
Tuesday's game wraps up a two-game homestand for the Red Wings.
Injuries: F Justin Abdelkader (lower body) and F Darren Helm (lower body) are out. F Luke Glendening (upper body) is on injured reserve.
