FRISCO, Texas-- The Dallas Stars, William B. Travis World Language Academyand Grand Prairie ISDheld a pep rally to root on the Dallas Stars in the Stanley Cup Playoffs while cutting the ribbon on a refurbished school gymnasium and celebrating the launch of the Future Starsprogram at the school.

The Future Stars program, made possible by the Stars and the National Hockey League, includes the creation of a sustainable ball hockey program for physical education classes and a refurbishment of the school's gym with fresh paint in Stars colors and decor, new safety padding and new Texas and American flags. Kids in attendance will receive a Future Stars jersey and play ball hockey in the gym with former Stars players Bob Bassenand Vern Fiddler. Dallas Stars President/Chief Executive Officer Brad Alberts, President of the Dallas Stars Foundation Marty Turcoand Dallas Stars Director of Community Outreach Al Montoyawill also be in attendance.

About Future Stars
In partnership with the NHL, the Dallas Stars created Future Stars - a mainstay program being implemented in facilities throughout the Metroplex. The William B. Travis World Language Academy is a Title 1 school, one of the first facilities to launch the program. The facility will have enough support and equipment to implement a hockey program for their youth on a weekly basis. The Future Stars program is also coming soon to Dallas Parks & Recreation, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dallas, as well as more facilities in the Grand Prairie Independent School District.
