Malone, Petersen named Hobey Baker nominees

NCAA

Boston College defenseman Casey Fitzgerald (2016, third round) darted to the corner and set up Brown's goal as one of his career-high three assists in Saturday's win over Notre Dame.

Through 25 games, Fitzgerald has amassed five goals and 18 points.
Cal Petersen (2013, fifth round) made several breakaway stops Saturday en route to finishing the night with a season-high 38 saves as Notre Dame lost to Boston College 6-4. Petersen is 14-9-3 with a 2.09 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.
Notre Dame forward Connor Hurley (2013, second round) was out of action for the second consecutive weekend. Hurley has contributed four goals and 16 points in 21 games.
Defenseman Will Borgen (2015, fourth round) skated to an even rating Friday as St. Cloud State defeated Bemidji State 2-1. On Saturday, Borgen followed the rush and took a pass between the circles and scored with a wrist shot as the Huskies came up short in a 2-1 loss to Minnesota-Duluth.

In 25 games as a leader on the blue line, the mobile sophomore has racked up 11 points (2+9) and a plus-five rating.
St. Cloud State forward Judd Peterson (2012, seventh round) went without a point over the weekend in the win over Bemidji State and the loss to Minnesota-Duluth to extend his point drought to 10 games. Peterson remains stuck on nine goals and 13 points in 26 appearances.
After being scratched for the second straight game in Friday's 3-0 win over New Hampshire, Providence defender Anthony Florentino (2013, fifth round) returned to work with four shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 victory over the Wildcats. At the 20-game mark, Florentino has five goals and 12 points.
Ivan Chukarov (2015, seventh round) recorded five shots on goal and a plus-1 rating over the weekend as Massachusetts dropped both end of a conference set at Maine by scores of 4-1 and 2-1. Chukarov has one goals, six points and 53 shots on goal in 26 games.
Connecticut defender Philip Nyberg (2016, fifth round) netted an assist Tuesday in a 2-1 loss to Boston College. The freshman was unable to pint Friday as the Huskies snapped their three-game funk with a 3-1 win over Vermont. Nyberg has four assists in his first eight collegiate contests.
Freshman forward Brett Murray (2016, fourth round)did not dress Saturday as Penn State was defeated by Princeton 5-4. Murray has played in just two contests since joining the club for the second semester, contributing one assist and four shots on goal.

QMJHL

Vasily Glotov (2016, seventh round) buried a rebound for his 11th goal of the year and added an assist Friday as Cape Breton bested Charlottetown 5-4 in overtime.

Glotov, who the next day was blanked in the Screaming Eagles' 4-0 shutout of Quebec, has an even 40 points (11+29) through 46 games.

OHL

After a two-game absence to nurse an injury, Cliff Pu (2016, third round) returned to work Sunday to capture one assist in a 4-0 blanking of Oshawa. Despite missing some action, Pu continues to lead the Knights with 63 points (27+36) in 42 contests.
Mississauga defenseman Austin Osmanski (2016, seventh round) remained out of action due to a six-game suspension. Osmanski, who has one goal and six points this season, is eligible to return on Feb. 2.

WHL

Brandon Hagel (2016, sixth round) picked up one assist Friday in Red Deer's 5-2 victory over Prince George, and was kept off the score sheet Saturday as the Rebels fell 4-1 to Regina. Hagel is second in team scoring with 47 points (20+27), including a team-high five game-winning goals, through 43 games.
Giorgio Estephan (2015, sixth round) saw his eight-game point streak snapped Friday as Lethbridge edged Prince Albert 5-4. He got back on track with an assist in a 3-1 win over Saskatoon on Saturday, giving the top-line centerman 59 points (24+35) in 46 games.
Defenseman Devante Stephens (2015, fifth round) posted an even rating last week as Kelowna dropped a pair of decisions to Kamloops and Portland. He has eight goals and 19 points in 45 appearances.
Prince Albert defenseman Vojtech Budik (2016, fifth round)logged one assist and an even rating last weekend as the Raiders were winners in two of three contests. In 43 games this season, Budik is looking for his first goal, but has recorded 15 assists.
Brendan Guhle (2015, second round) posted three points in four games last week, including one goal and one assist Sunday as Prince George downed Edmonton 3-1. At the 40-game mark, Guhle has 12 goals, 12 assists and a plus-3 rating.

Sweden

Rasmus Asplund (2016, second round) saw his five-game point streak come to an end Thursday as Farjestad BK closed out Djurgarden IF 3-1. Asplund was unable to play in Saturday's 4-3 victory over Karlskrona HK, leaving the 19-year-old with three goals and 15 points through 29 appearances.
Victor Olofsson (2014, seventh round) snapped an eight-game goal drought Saturday with his ninth of the year and added a helper as Frolunda HC edged Rogle BK 4-3.

Olofsson, who netted a combined one assist and three shots on goal in the two games leading up to the Saturday output, has connected for 21 points in 39 games.
After going without a point in Thursday and Thursday outings, Gustav Possler (2013, fifth round) redirected home his second goal of the campaign Saturday as Djurgarden IF lost to Orebro HK 3-2.

Possler has three points through his first seven games.
Jonas Johansson (2014, third round) allowed five goals on 27 shots Wednesday as Almtuna IS was toppled by MODO 5-4. Johansson rebounded with a 38-save performance Friday to backstop Almtuna IS to a 4-3 victory over Timra IK. Johansson has logged a ton of work this season, posting a 12-12 record, 2.13 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
