Fans vote 'May Day' as RJ's best call

Could it really be any other call?
The fans have spoken and Brad May's series-clinching goal in overtime of Game 4 of the 1993 Adams Division Semifinals has been voted as Buffalo Sabres legendary play-by-play announcer Rick Jeanneret's greatest call.
Over 30,000 fans voted in "RJ's Best Call" bracket presented by Wegmans, which saw 16 classic Jeanneret calls go head-to-head.
At the end of the day, "May Day!" triumphed over "Scary Good!" Check out a recap of the entire bracket here.

With "May Day!," the call matched the moment. Before that goal, the Sabres had not won a playoff series in a decade. May's goal swept the Bruins on home ice and sent the Sabres to the second round for the first time since 1983.
Just 4:48 into overtime in a 5-5 game, Pat LaFontaine fell down at center ice, but was able to get the puck up to May on the rush. May then deked around future Hall-of-Fame defenseman Ray Bourque and beat Andy Moog for the win.
Then the celebrations and pandemonium began, and Jeanneret kept exclaiming "May Day! May Day!" until he could think of something else to say.
The rest is history. The call is one of the most iconic in NHL history, having been used in Stanley Cup commercials and during Jeanneret's induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame as the winner of the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award in 2012.
