Thompson out vs. Penguins due to illness

Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson will miss Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh due to an illness, the team announced.

The team warmed up with seven defensemen in Thompson's absence. Tobias Reider, who is day-to-day with an injury, did not participate in warmups.
The game can be seen on NBCSN with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m.
