Fans can vote for Skinner as 'Last Man In' for All-Star Game

Jeff Skinner was excluded from the NHL's initial Atlantic Division All-Star roster on Wednesday, but a trip to San Jose might still be in the cards for the Sabres' leading goal scorer.
Skinner is Buffalo's candidate on the league's "Last Man In" ballot, which gives fans the opportunity to select the final player on all four division rosters. Fans can vote up to 10 times per day through Jan. 10.
"Jeff Skinner's obviously been a big, a big contributor for us, has put us in this position," Sabres coach Phil Housley said.

"Obviously, we'd like to see him be on the team for his contributions early, the 40-game mark. It's good to see he still has an opportunity with the voting, so everybody please get out there and vote for Jeff Skinner."
Skinner is tied for second in the NHL with 26 goals this season, three behind Washington's Alex Ovechkin. He's on pace to tie for the third-most goals in Sabres history (53), trailing Alexander Mogilny in 1992-93 (76) and Danny Gare in 1979-80 (56).
He's also on pace for 41 goals at even-strength, which would finish third in franchise history behind Mogilny (49 in 1992-93) and Rick Martin (44 in 1973-74). His three overtime goals in 35 games ties the Sabres' franchise single-season record shared by Daniel Briere (2006-07) and Derek Roy (2009-10).
Jack Eichel was selected as the Sabres' representative on the Atlantic Division roster.

The NHL All-Star Skills Competition is set for Fri., Jan. 25 at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN and the Honda NHL All-Star game will take place on Sat., Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC from SAP Center in San Jose.
