30 WINS - The Rangers go into the All-Star break with 30 wins, their most heading into an All-Star break since 2016-17 and the eighth time in history (excluding Olympic years and shortened seasons). New York has won four out of its last six and seven of its last 10 games.
HOME COOKING- The Rangers wrapped the three-game homestand with the win and have won seven out of their last eight games at home and have earned a point in 17 of their 21 home games this season (15-4-2). New York has earned a point in eight of its last nine home games (7-1-1).
POWER PLAY PROWESS -The Rangers tallied three goals on the power play for the first time since April 6, 2021 against Pittsburgh. The Rangers have tallied 11 power play goals in its last nine games and have power play goals in six out of seven games. New York's 36 power play goals are tied for the third-most in the NHL this season. The Rangers are 20-4-3 in games which they have scored a power play goal.
GALLANT EARNS 300th WIN - Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant became the 51st head coach in NHL history to win 300 games and 11th active (Trotz, Ruff, Laviolette, Sutter, Tippett, Boudreau, McLellan, DeBoer, Cooper, Sullivan). Gallant tied Peter Laviolette for the 22nd fastest to earn 300 wins (588 games).
SOMEWHERE OVER THE ATLANTIC - The Blueshirts improved to 12-2-0 against Atlantic Division opponents.
BLACK HISTORY NIGHT - Tonight at MSG, the Rangers celebrated the beginning of Black History Month with Black History Night. Throughout Black History Month, the Rangers will amplify their commitment to diversity and inclusion in the game by developing original content to recognize current and former Black NHL players and those who blazed the trail for a better game.
LEADING AFTER TWO - The Rangers improved to 16-1-3 when leading after the second period.
FAST START - Mika Zibanejad opened the scoring 35 seconds into the game, their fastest goal to start a game since March 2, 2021 against Buffalo (28 seconds).

  • Chris Kreider regained the league-lead in goals (33) with his two-goal effort, both coming on the power play. It is Kreider's sixth multi-goal game of the season and his second multi-power play goal contest (Oct. 29 vs. CBJ). Since 1996-97, Kreider's 17 power play goals are already tied for the second most in a single season for New York. Kreider's first goal stood up as the game-winning goal, the 27th of his career, tying Butch Keeling and Don Maloney for the 13th most in franchise history. This weekend, Kreider will be the lone Rangers representative at the NHL All-Star Game.
    - Mika Zibanejad extended his point streak to four-straight games (3G-4A) and has points in 12 of his last 13 games (7G-11A). Zibanejad has 14 points in his last eight games (4G-10A). Since December 15, Zibanejad has the second most points in the NHL with 28 (13G-15A).
    - Artemi Panarin posted his sixth three-point game of the season (1G-2A), the sixth most in the NHL. Panarin reached the 50-point mark tonight (52 pts) and became the fourth undrafted player to begin his career with at least seven consecutive 50-point seasons, joining Wayne Gretzky (15: 1979-80 - 1993-94), Peter Stastny (12: 1980-81 - 1991-92) and Mike Ridley (9: 1985-86 - 1993-94. Panarin has points in eight out of his last nine games (3G-13A) with six of those eight being multi-point games.
    - Igor Shesterkin won for the ninth time in his last 10 starts and in his last 17 starts he has allowed two or fewer goals in 12 of them. Shesterkin's 22 wins rank sixth in the NHL, his save percentage (.937) ranks first among goalies with 20 or more games and his goals-against average is second (2.10) in the league.
    - Ryan Strome registered his 25th assist of the season and has one goal and eight assists for nine points in his last 10 games. He has points in seven of those 10 games. Strome is the fourth Ranger to reach 25 assists this year, only New York and Colorado have four or more players with 25 or more assists.
    - Alexis Lafreniére became the fifth different Ranger to reach the 10-goal mark and has goals in back-to-back games.
