The Nashville Predators begin a two-game trip tonight when they face the Boston Bruins for a 6 p.m. CT puck drop at TD Garden. This evening’s contest is the first of two meetings between the two clubs this season; the Preds will host the Bruins in March.

The Predators finished off their three-game homestand on Saturday night with a 5-2 victory over St. Louis. Since then, the group has had a pair of practices to rest and regroup as they’ll now begin a stretch of six games in 10 days, and three contests in the next four.

Following their spirited practice sessions this week, the Predators will now face a Bruins team that had won five straight before falling to the Stars on Tuesday night in overtime. They’re looking forward to that challenge and building off of their own win on Saturday.

“I think we just keep trying to stack our game a little bit, right? Grow our game, build it,” Preds Head Coach Andrew Brunette said following Wednesday’s practice. “I think we've worked on a lot of things. It was a short camp. We're ironing some of those things out, and there's stretches where you could see the progress, and there’s stretches like the first period the other night [where we were] a little bit sloppy. So, just that mentality of being ready. Obviously, it's two tough games [on this trip]. Take one at a time here in Boston, and we’ve got to make sure our start [is great].”

Preds forward Mavrik Bourque, who has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury, practiced in full again on Wednesday and took line rushes as well. Brunette said following the session he’s hopeful Bourque will return “soon, if it’s not [tonight in Boston].”

Defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin, who has yet to make his Preds debut this season, saw time paired with Brady Skjei during Wednesday's practice.

Last Time Out:

Five different goal scorers - Jonathan Marchessault, Filip Forsberg, Adam Edstrom, Ryan O’Reilly and Jack Drury - helped the Preds to a 5-2 victory over the Blues last Saturday night. Adam Wilsby recorded a career-high three assists, Roman Josi and Steven Stamkos each added a pair of helpers and Juuse Saros made 24 saves for his third win of the season.

Stamkos leads the Preds with four goals and 10 points, followed by Josi with eight helpers and nine points. O’Reilly and Edstrom have four goals apiece, and Forsberg has seven assists as well.

All-Time Meetings:

The Preds are 18-18-(1)-4 all-time against the Bruins, including a 6-9-(1)-4 mark on the road. Nashville is 4-4-2 in the last 10 meetings versus Boston and 2-3-0 in the last five at TD Garden.

Nashville Notables:

Jonathan Marchessault scored his first career NHL goal on April 11, 2015 vs. Boston (Tuukka Rask). Marchessault played in his 700th career game on March 4, 2025 against the Bruins.
