Duchene Welcomes Baby Girl to Smashville Family

Preds Forward Announces Birth of Daughter on Social Media

Smashville's roster has added a brand-new member.
Preds forward Matt Duchene, his wife, Ashley, and their son, Beau, welcomed a baby girl into the world on Monday morning, Jaymes Olivia Duchene.

Duchene shared the good news on his Instagram and Twitter pages, writing: "Baby girl Jaymes Olivia Duchene, born [Monday] morning at 9:25 a.m., weighing 8 lbs. and 4 oz. Mama and baby are both happy and healthy! So blessed, God is great! Can't wait for you to meet your big brother [Tuesday]."

The Duchenes are the first of a number of Preds couples expecting newborns in the months to come, including Captain Roman Josi, forwards Viktor Arvidsson and Calle Jarnkrok, plus defenseman Mattias Ekholm and goaltender Pekka Rinne.
