EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Tyler Benson to a one-year, two-way contract extension with an average annual value of $750,000.
Benson, 23, finished tied for third in scoring in the American Hockey League last season, putting up 10 goals and 26 assists in 36 games with the Bakersfield Condors.
He added another three goals and two assists in six playoff games, scoring the series-winner in Bakersfield's Pacific Division championship victory over Henderson.
The 6-foot-0, 190-pound left-winger has recorded one assist in seven career NHL games.
The Oilers selected the Edmonton native in the second round (32nd overall) at the 2016 NHL Draft.
