RELEASE: Oilers set to open 2017 training camp and pre-season

The Edmonton Oilers will kick off their 2017 Training Camp on Thursday, September 14 with medical and fitness testing taking place at Rogers Place.
A total of 61 players will attend camp, including seven goaltenders, 19 defencemen and 35 forwards.

On-ice sessions will commence Friday, September 15 at both Rogers Place and the Community Rink, where players will hit the ice led by members of the Oilers coaching staff. Head coach Todd McLellan will lead on-ice sessions along with his coaching staff.
The Oilers open their 2017 pre-season schedule on September 18 against the Calgary Flames with split squads facing off in both Edmonton and Calgary.

The Oilers open the 2017-18 regular season on Wednesday, October 4, the opening night of the NHL regular season. The Oilers face off against their provincial rivals, the Calgary Flames at 8:00 pm.
