Russell played 68 games for the Oilers last season, recording 13 points (1-12-13) and 23 penalty minutes. In 13 playoff games, Russell had four assists.
"I'm excited," said Russell. "Obviously, they gave me an opportunity late at the start of the season last year and I was very thankful for that.
"I'm really happy to continue on with them."
