• Doan assisted on two of Arizona's goals, but he was called for hooking at 11:35 of the third period, and Minnesota's Nino Niederreiter scored the game-winning goal on the ensuing power play.
The Coyotes challenged Minnesota's fourth goal citing off-side, but a quick video review confirmed there was no off-side.
"It's hard to tell. The look that I had, it was borderline inconclusive," Tippett said. "But at that time of the game, you wing it and hope you might get a break."
• Forward Ryan White was removed from the injured-reserve list and returned to the lineup after missing 11 games because of a lower-body injury. White played 9:54 and delivered three hits.
To make room on the roster for White, the Coyotes assigned forward Anthony Duclair to the American Hockey League. Duclair, who scored 20 goals as a rookie last season, has notched just three in 41 games this season.
"Our expectations of his production was much higher than it is at this level," Tippett said. "We just decided that it's time for him to go down and try to gain some confidence and play some games in the American league ... It's a hard job. He's an offensive player. He has to create opportunities and he has to finish opportunities and there's just not been enough of it this year ... He's got to go down and get some work. Hopefully the confidence will come."
