Nylander_TOR_celebrates

William Nylander made history in a couple of ways Wednesday.
Nylander tied the NHL record for fastest goal from the start of overtime when he scored on a
penalty shot six seconds into the extra period
to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 3-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center.

Nylander became the first player in Maple Leafs history and the 12th NHL player to score a penalty shot goal in overtime during a regular-season game. New Jersey Devils defenseman Andy Greene and Vancouver Canucks defenseman Ben Hutton did it last season.
Nylander tied Andreas Athanasiou (Jan. 3), Alex Ovechkin (Dec. 15, 2006), David Legwand (March 9, 2006) and Mats Sundin (Dec. 30, 1995), who also scored six seconds into overtime.
