At 17:10 of the second period in the Bruins/Sabres game, the Situation Room initiated a video review to further examine a play at the Boston net. The original call by the referee closest to the Bruins net was "goal" but after the four on-ice officials huddled, the call on the ice was changed to "no goal." Video review supported the referee's call on the ice that Brian Gionta kicked the puck in to the Boston net. According to Rule 49.2 "A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who kicks a puck that deflects into the net off any player, goalkeeper or official."Therefore the referee's call on the ice stands - no goal Buffalo.
