WINNIPEG -- Michael Amadio scored 3:40 into the second overtime, and the Vegas Golden Knights recovered for a 5-4 win against the Winnipeg Jets in Game 3 of the Western Conference First Round at Canada Life Centre on Saturday.

Amadio, who also had an assist, scored with a slap shot from the slot after a pass by Winnipeg defenseman Dylan Samberg deflected to him off Vegas forward Ivan Barbashev. It was his first Stanley Cup Playoff goal.
"I think every kid dreams of scoring an OT winner in the playoffs," Amadio said. "It is something that I will remember forever for sure. I kind of didn't even see it go in. I just kind of put it on net and then I heard all the guys on the ice start screaming, and that's when I knew."

Vegas has a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. Game 4 is here Monday.
"It's hard to win hockey games in the playoffs, so we'll take them however we can get them," Golden Knights captain Mark Stone said. "We want to close that game out for sure, right? It's 4-1 going into the third, we want to close that game out, but they played five [on] defense all night. … We rolled four lines, we rolled three [defensive] pairs, and ultimately found a way."

Mark Scheifele scored his first of the postseason, Kyle Connor had a goal and an assist, and Neal Pionk had three assists for the Jets, who are the second wild card from the West. Connor Hellebuyck made 43 saves.
"That was a [heck] of a hockey game," Winnipeg coach Rick Bowness said. "The crowd was fantastic. The guys laid it all out there on the line tonight. They played their hearts out. Very proud of the way we played. We're down early, we get that, we fought back. We're down three going into the third and we kept fighting. There is no quit in this group."
Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey left the game with a lower-body injury at 4:34 of the first period. He appeared to sustain the injury in a collision with Zach Whitecloud at 1:43 before playing one more shift on a power play.
"He's got a lower body and he's done for the series," Bowness said. "Now, when we get into next week, I'll be able to give you a better answer (about timeline going forward). I just know he's done for the series."
Nino Niederreiter brought Winnipeg to within 4-2 at 2:04 of the third period with a wrist shot from the right face-off circle.
Scheifele then cut it to 4-3 at 14:08 on a power play, scoring glove side from the top of the left circle.
"The first two periods we didn't quite show it the way we wanted to," Niederreiter said. "That third period, we knew we had to play to our identity to be successful, and that's exactly what happened."

VGK@WPG, Gm3: Lowry sends in rebound late in 3rd

Adam Lowry tied it 4-4 with 22 seconds remaining, knocking in a rebound during a 6-on-5.
"To kind of enter the third where we were at and get the building rocking and have a chance to win in overtime, it's a pretty big high emotionally," Lowry said. "It was nice to get the building back and tie the game for the guys. It's too bad we couldn't finish."
Stephenson, who turned 29 on Saturday, gave Vegas a 1-0 lead at 2:52 of the first period, scoring with a wrist shot from the right circle on the first shot of the game.
Eichel made it 2-0 at 6:18 with a one-timer from the left circle off a pass by Stephenson for his first power-play goal of the game.
"We saw that they were playing five (defensemen). ... We drew some penalties, got a couple big power-play goals and generated momentum that way," Stone said.

Keegan Kolesar pushed it to 4-1 at 17:45, chipping in the rebound of a shot by Eichel with his backhand.
"Give them credit, they had a good push in the third," Eichel said. "But coming in after the third before the first overtime, [we had] a lot of confidence in the room. We still felt confidence about ourselves."
