Baertschi uses slap shot to reveal gender of baby

Sven Baertschi scored a baby boy.

The Vancouver Canucks forward and his wife Laura discovered the sex of their bundle of joy during a slap-shot gender reveal at Rogers Arena.
Baertschi stepped up and blasted the puck on goal, and he and Laura cheered when they saw blue confetti pop from the net. They sealed the moment with a hug and kiss as their attendees voiced their excitement.

Baerschi later admitted it took him a few tries to hit the target, but all's well that ends well.
"When she told me she was pregnant that's one step and I guess we both weren't patient enough to wait to see what it is and so we just decided to, you know, figure it out early," he said. "Obviously it's really special. I barely slept (Wednesday) night, I was just so excited."
Now it's time to pick a name and get some extra sleep, but the Baerstchis have some time. The baby is due in April
