COL@STL: Nichushkin buries SHG for his second goal of the game

Brock Nelson made a remarkable defensive play in the second period of Tuesday’s game between the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues, then quickly found a streaking Valeri Nichushkin down the center of the ice.

The Avalanche forward secured the puck from his teammate, swept it between his legs, and buried a beautiful shorthanded goal to pad Colorado’s lead.

The goal was Nichushkin’s second of the game.

With the Avalanche’s eventual 3-1 win over the Blues, Colorado clinched the top spot in the Western Conference for the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs.
