MTL Dobes showered with chants

Jakub Dobes looked like he was at a loss for words.

After the Montreal Canadiens win over the Buffalo Sabres in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Second Round on Sunday, fans at the Bell Centre showed their appreciation for the Canadiens netminder, who’s quickly becoming a fan favorite for his stellar play throughout these Stanley Cup Playoffs.

“Ole! Ole! Ole!” roared the chant as Dobes was left speechless on the ice.

After a minute, Dobes finally found his words.

"Ca va?” he asked the crowd during the on-ice interview, French for "How are you doing?"

The loud cheer from the fans tells us they’re doing pretty good.

The 24-year-old goalie is sporting a .918 save percentage throughout the first 10 games of the postseason (in which he’s started all 10) and recorded a 28-save masterpiece in Sunday’s 6-2 win over the Sabres.

The win gives the Canadiens a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series. Game 4 is back at Bell Centre on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; ESPN, SN, CBC, TVAS).

Even before the final horn, the crowd recognized the tremendous effort by the young netminder, and Dobes couldn’t help but crack a smile during a break in the action.

Canadiens forward Alex Newhook led the scoring for Montreal with two goals for the second straight game.
