Devils MSG car breakdown

Getting to Long Island can be hellish, just ask the New Jersey Devils broadcast team.

The four person team of MSG's Ken Daneyko, Rachel Herzog, Don La Greca and Bryce Salvador had an adventurous trip to UBS Arena on Saturday.

The van taking the Devils crew to the New York Islanders arena for a 7 p.m. puck drop broke down on the highway while still in New Jersey. During the pregame show, Salvador blamed himself for requesting the air conditioning to be turned on.

Herzog shared a picture of the stranded crew to her social media accounts.

When a working vehicle came to the rescue, there was still a problem. The crew's equipment was locked in the trunk. But don't worry, they problem solved.

Ironically enough, La Greca, a New Jersey native and longtime fixture of the New York sports radio scene, joked well before the breakdown that the drive to Long Island might take longer than flying to Winnipeg, considering Metro area traffic.

But all's well that ends well as the team made it to the game in time.

Let's hope for their sake, the ride home is pretty boring.
