Los Angeles Kings defenseman Tom Gilbert will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for boarding/charging forward Nick Ritchie of the Anaheim Ducks.
Gilbert hit Ritchie into the glass in the neutral zone with 3:20 remaining in the second period on Tuesday. Ritchie left the game and did not return. No penalty was called. The Ducks won the game 4-0. Ritchie is not expected to play Wednesday when the Ducks host the Pittsburgh Penguins (10:30 p.m. ET; SN360, SN1, FS-W, ROOT, NHL.TV).
