This Week in Centennial History

The NHL All-Star Game is coming back to Tampa. Commissioner Gary Bettman announced Thursday that the Tampa Bay Lightning will host the 2018 game on Jan. 28. All-Star Weekend will coincide with the Gasparilla Pirate Festival, held annually in Tampa since 1904. The city will work with the NHL to coordinate the two events.

June 3, 1993: More than two decades later,

June 1, 1992: The
Penguins win back-to-back Stanley Cup championships
by completing a sweep of the Chicago Blackhawks with a 6-5 win.

May 31, 2001:
Ray Bourque's final Stanley Cup Playoff goal is one for the record books
. He becomes the oldest player in the history of the Stanley Cup Final to score a goal during the Colorado Avalanche's 3-1 win against the New Jersey Devils in Game 3.

May 30, 1985: The
Edmonton Oilers roll to their second straight Stanley Cup championship
by defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 8-3 in Game 5 of the Final. Jari Kurri matches the single-season playoff record for goals with his 19th.

May 29, 1993:
Wayne Gretzky carries the Los Angeles Kings into their first Stanley Cup Final
with a record-setting performance against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of the Campbell Conference Final.
May 28, 2013:
Justin Williams comes through again in Game 7
, scoring twice for the Los Angeles Kings in a 2-1 win against the San Jose Sharks.
