Third Period Rally Sparks Wild Ending and NJD Victory

The Devils rallied in the third period to hand Minnesota their second regulation loss in the past 20 games as they beat them, 4-3, Tuesday night with goals by Pavel Zacha (PPG), Adam Henrique, Kyle Palmieri and Beau Bennett (GWG). Here's what we learned:
1) Blake Coleman drew the attention of all five Wild skaters to his corner of the ice, allowing Bennett to come off the bench, sneak into the slot, accept the pass and score the game-winning goal late in regulation. Coleman had a pretty sweet celebration for his first NHL point and was the hard hat recipient.

2) With the return of Andy Greene and Vern Fiddler imminent, head coach John Hynes is going to have some tough decisions to make in regard to his lineup. Three wins in a row with the same lines and pairings has developed some chemistry that has allowed him to roll all four lines and keep the defenseman fresh, which has helped the Devils handle the opposition late in games. With back-to-back games on the horizon, there will be opportunity for everyone to get in a game, but it won't be easy to figure out who comes out when those guys return as expected this weekend.
3) Zacha's power play marker was his first goal in nearly two months. No doubt a big confidence booster for the 19-year-old, who has seen the press box more than he'd like to these past few weeks. The coaches asked for more from him and, so far, he's responded well and is being rewarded on the scoresheet.
The Devils, who went 3-0-1 on this Western Conference road trip and now sit just four points out of a playoff spot, have a complete day off on Wednesday, but will return to the ice for practice on Thursday before hosting Montreal on Friday.
