Brendan Perlini scored twice, and Darnell Nurse, Jesse Puljujarvi and Zach Hyman scored for Edmonton, which defeated the Calgary Flames 4-0 on Sunday in its preseason opener.
Hyman, in his Oilers debut after signing as a free agent this offseason, gave Edmonton a 3-0 lead 16:08 into the first period. McDavid made it 5-0 at 18:24 of the second period. He also had two assists.
Mike Smith (18 saves) and Mikko Koskinen (16 saves) combined for the shutout. Ilya Konovalov and Stuart Skinner were the goalies Sunday.
Chris Driedger allowed five goals facing 23 shots for Seattle, which won the first game in its history, 5-3 against the Vancouver Canucks, on Sunday in Spokane, Washington. Joey Daccord made nine saves on 10 shots.
The Kraken have four more preseason games and will not play in Seattle until their home opener against the Canucks at Climate Pledge Arena on Oct. 23. They open their regular season at the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 12.
