Now that is some serious fan appreciation.
The New York Rangers continued their long-standing tradition of "Blueshirts Off Our Backs" on Fan Appreciation Night, immediately after the final home game of the regular season Thursday.

Each Rangers player meets a contest winner, nominated by someone for outstanding work, growing the game of hockey or displaying "New York mentality," and hands over their game-worn jersey and autographs it on the spot.
That would have been plenty for aspiring law student Isaiah Marquez-Greene, seeing as how he drew Rangers captain Jacob Trouba, a favorite of his since he was a young fan in Winnipeg when Trouba played for the Jets. But a video shared by the team on social media showed so much more.

After the game, Trouba removed his jersey and signed it, but had a little more in store for Marquez-Greene, a survivor of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary shooting that claimed his little sister, Ana, as a victim.
Trouba told the University of Connecticut-bound Marquez-Greene that he knew of his story.
"I know your story. I feel for you," the Rangers captain said after taking the 19-year-old amateur player to the team's bench. "You're an amazing human."
Trouba asked what Marquez-Greene wanted to do with his life.
"I want to be a lawyer," Marquez-Greene said.
"Yea?" Trouba said, with an inflection that gave away he had already known. "This is for you. From the Garden of Dreams. It's a scholarship for law school... You deserve it."

After the gift, Trouba insisted on taking Marquez-Greene's phone and adding his number.
"And I want an invitation for when you graduate law school," Trouba said.
After roughly a hundred thank yous from Marquez-Greene, the two shook hands and parted ways for the night. But they'll hang out again at the graduation party.
