Holtby

By now, we know this story ends with the Washington Capitals winning the Stanley Cup in Game 5 on Thursday.
And although a championship is the culmination of moments that landed in one team's favor, whether through hard work or plain luck, one will forever be linked to this run: Braden Holtby making "The Save."

One play managed to stand out amid the manic energy of the Stanley Cup Final between the Capitals and Vegas Golden Knights. And in Episode 6 of "Quest for the Stanley Cup," we see how Holtby's stick save against Vegas forward Alex Tuch in the closing minutes of Game 2 set the stage for Games 3 and 4, as the Capitals held strong against the Golden Knights' relentless effort.

The behind-the-scenes documentary series airs exclusively on ESPN+ in the United States and on YouTube.com/NHL in Canada. The seven-episode series goes on the ice, in locker rooms, inside the minds of the players and coaches, and everywhere in between to give viewers an all-access pass during the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the pursuit of the Stanley Cup -- the hardest trophy to win in professional sports.
Episode 6 starts with Washington ahead 2-1 in the best-of-7 series. With the Capitals appearing confident they just have to stay the course, the Golden Knights look to be losing their luster and searching for solutions.

The episode also takes a closer look at the referees and their roles of policing and diplomacy in a sea of animosity.
Among the stars of the series, a couple of fan favorites, Capitals forwards Devante Smith-Pelly and Jakub Vrana, emerge. And Golden Knights general manager George McPhee takes a few moments to reflect on his 17 years running the Capitals.
The parade is set for Washington, but so much of what went into this championship can be seen in only one place. Through exclusive audio and footage, "Quest for the Stanley Cup" captures the entirety of the series.
