Dumoulin-injury 12-28

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin will miss 4-6 weeks after having surgery for a broken jaw.
Dumoulin, 25, was hit in the mouth with a slap shot by New Jersey Devils defenseman Andy Greene in the third period of a 5-2 win Tuesday. He was placed on long-term injured reserve.

Dumoulin has seven assists and is minus-8 in 35 games. He had 16 assists and was a plus-11 in 79 regular-season games, and scored two goals and six assists in 24 Stanley Cup Playoff games to help the Penguins win the Stanley Cup last season.
Pittsburgh was without defensemen Kris Letang (lower body), Trevor Daley (upper body) and Olli Maatta (illness) against the Devils. Maatta's status for the Penguins game against the Carolina Hurricanes at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday (7 p.m. ET; ROOT, FS-CR, NHL.TV) is unknown.
