Robert Hagg 9.28

Robert Hagg signed a two-year, $3.2 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday. It has an average annual value of $1.6 million.

The defenseman, who could have become a restricted free agent Oct. 9, scored 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 49 games and led the Flyers with 136 hits. Philadelphia was 11-1-1 when he scored a point.
Hagg had three assists in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Flyers, who lost to the New York Islanders in seven games in the Eastern Conference Second Round.
"Not just with Robert, but with every player, you're trying to resolve it as quickly as you can if there's a deal to be made," Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said Tuesday. "In this case both sides were looking at a two-year term. The comparables that we brought up were the comparables they brought up so we were able to get to common ground very quickly. His representation, Newport Sports, are very experienced agents and know the market. If you're straightforward with how you precede they will reciprocate and we were able to get a deal done in two calls.
"It's a market-value contract, it's a fair contract. He's a kid that earned that contract and deserved that contract."
Selected by Philadelphia in the second round (No. 41) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Hagg has scored 42 points (11 goals 31 assists) in 202 regular-season games and three points in 14 playoff games.
