Philadelphia Flyers fantasy projections for 2023-24

As part of NHL.com's 32 in 32 series, the fantasy hockey staff has projections for relevant players on the Philadelphia Flyers. Players are listed in order of fantasy rank for this season.

Travis Konecny, C/RW

NHL.com fantasy rank: 117

Reason for optimism: When healthy, Konecny is the best fantasy player on the Flyers. He was better than a point per game in 2022-23 with 61 points (31 goals, 30 assists; career high in goals) with 15 power-play points and 191 shots on goal in 60 games. Konecny had five points (two goals, three assists) and 10 shots on goal in his final two games last season skating with forwards Frost and Farabee.

Morgan Frost, C/LW

NHL.com fantasy rank: 208

Reason for optimism: Frost had a very promising sophomore season, jumping from 16 points in 55 games in 2021-22 to 46 points (19 goals, 27 assists) in 81 games with 155 shots on goal. He finished the season centering the top line with Konecny and Farabee, and with the trade of center Kevin Hayes and the uncertain injury status of Sean Couturier, Frost should be penciled in as their No. 1 center entering the season with the opportunity to set career highs across the board.

Carter Hart, G

NHL.com fantasy rank: 215

Reason for optimism: Hart had a bounce-back season, posting 22 wins in 55 games (after winning 22 games combined in his previous two seasons). Despite the signing of goalie Cal Petersen in the offseason, Hart should start the season as the Flyers' primary option in net and should be expected to see at least half, if not up to 50, games this season.

Owen Tippett, LW/RW

NHL.com fantasy rank: 220

Reason for optimism: Tippett had an individual breakout season, his first full season in Philadelphia, with 49 points (27 goals, 22 assists) in 77 games. He could be the biggest beneficiary of the trade of Hayes in the offseason with an expanded opportunity as part of their top-six forward group and an increased role on their power play.

Tyson Foerster, C

NHL.com fantasy rank: 224

Reason for optimism:Foerster could be a dark horse for the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie this season, after a very impressive seven points (three goals, four assists) during an eight-game callup with the Flyers to finish last season. The 21-year-old center had 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists) in 66 games with Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League. He will likely have the opportunity to play in Philadelphia's top six and is worth taking a look at as a deep sleeper.
