Paul Byron

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced that forward Paul Byron underwent right shoulder surgery on Wednesday. His recovery period is expected to be six months. The procedure was performed by Dr. William Levine in New York.

Byron, 28, suited up for all 82 games this season, recording 35 points (20G, 15A). He reached the 20-goal plateau for the second straight year and the second time in his career.
The Ottawa native was Buffalo's sixth-round pick (179th overall) in 2007. He was claimed off waivers by the Canadiens from the Calgary Flames prior to the start of the 2015-16 season.
