Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr became the second player to score 1,900 NHL points with an assist in
a 6-5 overtime win against the San Jose Sharks
on Wednesday.
Jagr got an assist on a goal by Aleksander Barkov with 7:19 left in the third period at SAP Center.

"I don't really worry about it," Jagr said of the milestone. "I'm glad [Jonathan Huberdeau] and [Barkov] are back so we know we can play together again. It's a lot of fun. They're both great players and make my life on the ice a lot easier."
Jagr on Dec. 22 passed Mark Messier for second in NHL history by scoring point No. 1,888 in a game against the Boston Bruins.
Wayne Gretzky was the first NHL player to reach 1,900 points; he retired with 2,857.

"[Jagr is] great. He's really good. He's a great player, obviously," Panthers coach Tom Rowe said. "He's going to be in the Hall of Fame someday when his career's over, whenever that is. He's just a great guy. I've said it all year, his preparation is unbelievable, and our young guys have benefited from it, watching how he prepares. It's rubbed off on a lot of those guys too."
Jagr, who turned 45 Wednesday, has 759 goals and 1,141 assists in 1,684 NHL games, and has 32 points (10 goals) in 55 games this season.
Jagr had 1,079 points with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He scored with seven other NHL teams: New York Rangers (319), Washington Capitals (201), Panthers (116), New Jersey Devils (96), Philadelphia Flyers (54), Dallas Stars (26) and Bruins (nine).
Jagr had 146 points in three seasons playing in Kontinental Hockey League from 2008-11. He had 67 points in European leagues during the 2004-05 season and a combined 68 points prior to the shortened 1994-95 and 2012-13 NHL seasons.
