NHL, Twitter celebrate new season with hashtag-triggered team emojis

NEW YORK / TORONTO - To commemorate tonight's start of the 2017-18 NHL season, each of the 31 NHL teams will have an official hashtag-triggered emoji, the National Hockey League (NHL) and Twitter announced today. While hockey fans have been sharing their excitement for the new season via the official #NHLFaceOff hashtag, starting today at Noon ET and continuing throughout the entire NHL season, fans can add a new level of engagement with their favorite teams, players and fellow hockey fans on Twitter with unique team logo emojis.
