Maple Leafs aim to extend point streak

The Toronto Maple Leafs will attempt to extend their point streak to seven games when they visit the Calgary Flames (9 p.m. ET; ESPN+, SNW, TSN4, NHL.TV). A 2-0 victory against the Flames in Toronto on March 20 ignited their current 5-0-1 run and sent the Flames into a 1-6-0 slide. Keep an eye on Toronto forward Auston Matthews, who has scored six points (three goals, three assists) in his past five games and has regained some velocity on his shot that was missing while he was dealing with a wrist injury earlier this season. Goalie Michael Hutchinson will start for the Maple Leafs in the first of this back-to-back set. Jack Campbell made 31 saves in a 2-1 shootout win against the Winnipeg Jets on Friday and is 8-0-0 with a 1.35 goals-against average and a .951 save percentage this season and is expected to start Monday, when he can tie the longest winning streak by a Maple Leafs goalie, last achieved by Felix Potvin, who won nine straight games to start the 1993-94 season. -- Mike Zeisberger, staff writer

Capitals, Devils complete season series

The Washington Capitals will try to defeat the New Jersey Devils for an eighth consecutive time when they complete their season series in the finale of a two-game set at Prudential Center (3 p.m. ET; NHLN, MSG+, NBCSWA, NHL.TV). The Capitals can become the first team with eight or more wins against one opponent in a single regular season since the Montreal Canadiens were 8-0-0 against the Boston Bruins in 2007-08. Washington made it seven in a row against New Jersey when Dmitry Orlov scored with 21 seconds left in overtime for a 2-1 win Friday. The Capitals are the only team in the eight-team MassMutual East Division that has not lost to the Devils this season. Goaltending was supposed to be a big question mark for Washington, but Vitek Vanecek has been splendid of late and has won five of his past six starts. The Devils, meanwhile, need more from center Jack Hughes, who has not scored a point in eight consecutive games. -- Brian Compton, deputy managing editor

Lightning-Red Wings rematch

The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to continue their dominance at home against the Detroit Red Wings when they play the second of back-to-back games (Noon ET; NBC). The Lightning won 2-1 on Saturday and have won 17 straight home games against the Red Wings, dating to Dec. 12, 2013. Tampa Bay is 4-1-0 against Detroit this season, including 3-0-0 at home. Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy is 12-0-0 against the Red Wings in his NHL career after he made 25 saves Saturday, but Christopher Gibson will start Sunday. Tampa Bay forward Brayden Point has scored three goals in his past two games after being held without a point in four straight. The Red Wings end a four-game road trip seeking their first win (0-2-1) after a 2-1 loss to the Lightning on Saturday.
Washington Capitals at New Jersey Devils, 3 p.m. ET (NHLN, MSG+, NBCSWA, NHL.TV)
Capitals defenseman John Carlson has scored four points (three goals, one assist) during a three-game point streak and is tied for the Washington lead with seven points (two goals, five assists) in seven games against New Jersey.
Columbus Blue Jackets at Florida Panthers, 5 p.m. ET (ESPN+, SN, BSFL, BSOH, NHL.TV)
The Panthers seek their sixth consecutive win after a 5-2 victory against the Blue Jackets on Saturday, when forward Alex Wennberg scored three goals for his first NHL hat trick.
Dallas Stars at Carolina Hurricanes, 7 p.m. ET (NBCSN, SN360, SNE, SNO, BSSO, NHL.TV)
The Stars try to extend their winning streak to three after a 3-2 victory against the Hurricanes on Saturday. Dallas defenseman John Klingberg has scored six points (one goal, five assists) during a six-game point streak.
Arizona Coyotes at Anaheim Ducks, 9 p.m. ET (BSSC, BSSD, BSAZ, NHL.TV)
Twenty-three of Anaheim's 38 games this season have been decided by one goal, the highest percentage (60.5 percent) in the NHL. The Ducks are 2-4-1 against the Coyotes and five of those games (2-2-1) have been decided by one goal.
Toronto Maple Leafs at Calgary Flames, 9 p.m. ET (ESPN+, SNW, TSN4, NHL.TV)
The Flames have scored eight goals at even strength and three on the power play during their past seven games (1-6-0). Calgary is 25th in the NHL averaging 2.55 goals per game.
Vancouver Canucks at Winnipeg Jets, postponed
